How to deal with heartburn in pregnancy?

My sister is 39Wks + 3 days
Her heartburn is so bad that she cannot sleep – I know heartburn is common in pregnancy & that she doesn’t have long to go – but I don’t want her to be overtired for her labour. What can help her cope with it?

tums are great but I have heart burn so bad that it just leaves me with a chalky taste in my mouth that I can’t stand. But I use milk it is so great and I am not a milk drinker but it is great it goes down cold and it is like you can feel the acid being pushed down.

One word…Tums. I lived on them while pregnant. The added bonus is that they are made of calcium – builds strong baby bones!

I don’t like tums so I drink milk when I have heartburn (I’m 27 weeks heartburn is horrible). The milk coats the lining of your stomach and seems to me that it makes the heartburn go away. So tums yeah or if she doesn’t like them either and she likes milk try drinking milk when she gets heartburn.
