Heartburn and Levoquin

Heartburn is listed as a side effect of the medication Levoquin. This medication is an antibiotic which is used to treat serious bacterial infections.

The online health community Medhelp.org contains quite a number of comments from Levoquin users about heartburn.

However it it often a case of the vocal minority that expresses concern about side effects – it is said that ” less than 1 percent of people taking the drug” (source: emedtv.com.

Other possible problems that can occur when taking Levoquin, in addition to heartburn or indigestion, include shortness of breath, yeast infections, nausea and insomnia. See your doctor if you are on Levoquin and are concerned by any of these or other side effects.

    Depends on the dosage and the length of time you'll be taking it.
    It might be a side effect for you. If you get the heartburn for more than a day just call your doctor or talk to pharmacist.
